Webhosting Reviews

After years of continuous search for webhosting companies, I had my share of various experiences with different hosting companies. With that, a thought came to my mind that I should make my own webhosting review. This is not a post that someone had paid me to write, everything is based on my personal experiences with their web hosting services. A note before I begin, I do not work for nor related to the webhosting companies I will mention. The reviews are solely my opinion.

1. 1and1.com

My thoughts: I thought this one deserves the number 1 position, pun not intended. This is my current webhosting company, and after one year of staying with them, they have been good so far. There were a few downtimes, which I think cannot be avoided, but the support is pretty good so far. 1and1.com plans are also nice since the basic plan already includes one free domain and can host up to 20 external domains for only $3.99. I would say that is a good price. Aside fro webhosting plans, dedicated servers are also available which is nice if you want a dedicated server instead of shared webhosting.

Affiliate Program: 1and1.com provides Pay-Per-Sale commissions, so you get paid for every sale, not per customer as some other affiliate program do. However, they do not have tiered program, so you won’t get commissions for every sale your referred affiliate earns. The payouts differ so be sure to check their Commission Table.

2. IPowerWeb

My thoughts: IPowerweb provides cheap domain registrations before, which already includes free WHOIS privacy. When they decided to increase the price of their domain registration plans, I decided to make the switch. From $6.95 with free WHOIS privacy, they increased to $9.95 without WHOIS privacy. The web hosting plans of IPowerWeb are decently priced, though. They offer better prices for long term plans, but for those who want to pay on per month basis, a $10 setup fee will be charged. The cheapest web hosting plan they offer is $4.95/year + $10 setup fee, good for one domain only.

Affiliate Program: IPowerWeb’s Affiliate Program will pay partners $100 for every web hosting customer referred. And that is a high payout if you can haul in lots of different customers.

3. Globat

My thoughts: Globat is yet another web hosting company that provides hosting services with good value for money. They process new purchases fast so customers do not have to wait for days for their order. Although, their basic package, GX01, is good for one domain only. It comes with one free domain good for one year only. Domain renewal will be charged to the customer at $14.95 per year.

Affiliate Program: Globat offers competitive affiliate program. For every new customer that signs up, the partner gets $75. Signing up for affiliate program is free.
